Synology gets a new UK MD

Synology has announced that it's shuffling around the upstairs management, with the news that a new managing director for the UK, Ireland and Nordic region has been appointed: Mr Yi-Lin Huang. He replaces previous MD Mike Chen, who has held the position for the past three years.

Yi-Lin has been promoted from within the company, having worked for Synology in Taiwan for the past decade. For most of that time he's been a senior manager of the Product Department, but he's also previously worked as a technical support manager and as a product developer, so knows the business inside out.

Having worked hands on with Synology's hardware and its DiskStation Manager software back-end, he's well versed in the company's products and Synology hopes that he will utilise this understanding to help better push its products to a global audience.

“We have had good sales and marketing momentum in the UK, Ireland and Nordic countries for the past 3 years,” said Yi-Lin Huang of his appointment and Synology's current market placement. “We will continue to expand the business channels and provide our customers and partners with the best support possible.”

KitGuru Says: Congratulations to Mr Yi-Lin. It will be interesting to see if he takes Synology in any new directions now that he has a firmer hold on the reins.
