Elgato Facecam Review

Pros:

  • Excellent uncompressed image quality.
  • The best webcam software out there.
  • Fully custom controls that can be saved onto the webcam itself.
  • Great lowlight capabilities.
  • Lightweight.

Cons:

  • Pricey.
  • Not enough shutter speed options for 50Hz regions.
  • No upgrade path like a dedicated camera option.

KitGuru says: The uncompressed 60fps 1080p feed is sharp, colours are represented well and the field of view is nice and wide, the software is absolutely brilliant, being able to have ultimate control over every aspect of the camera and to save settings internally to the camera is exactly what you’d want as a video creator. We’re going to say it, this is the best webcam we’ve ever tested, despite the shutter speed niggle that we hope Elgato will fix with a software update.
