Ace Attorney franchise finally surpasses 10 million copies sold

While each game publisher approaches its game sales differently, Capcom has historically been much more transparent than most when it comes to disclosing how well its games and franchises have been performing – for good and for bad. The publisher has now updated its list of best-selling games and franchises, revealing that the Ace Attorney series has finally shifted 10 million units.

Unlike most game publishers, Capcom keeps a public record of all of its major games and franchises. Named its ‘Platinum Titles’, the publisher publicly discloses sales data on all of its games which have surpassed 1 million copies sold.

As of the 31st of March 2023, there have been 3 new entrants to the 1 million club: Mega Man X: Legacy Collection with 1 million copies sold (released July 2018); Capcom Arcade Stadium with 1,1 million (released February 2021) and last but certainly not least Resident Evil 4 Remake with 3.7 million copies sold (released March 2023).

With 200,000 copies sold since the previous update, the much loved Ace Attorney series has now finally surpassed 10 million copies sold – a relative small fry when compared to some of Capcom's other franchises.

The biggest winner by far is Resident Evil, with the franchise pushing an additional 7 million copies since the previous update, bringing the series to a total of 142 million copies sold – continuing to be by far Capcom’s biggest franchise. The full list of Capcom Platinum titles can be found HERE.
