Batman: Arkham Trilogy Switch port delayed

Back in June of this year during Nintendo’s Summer Direct, the console manufacturer announced that the highly-celebrated Batman: Arkham Trilogy would be coming to the Switch in ‘Fall of 2023’. The collection’s release date was then later confirmed; set to arrive on the 13th of October. With just over a week to go before its arrival, the team has now announced a two month delay for the game.

Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, the official Batman Arkham page said “Batman: Arkham Trilogy for Nintendo Switch will now launch on December 1, 2023. More time is needed to bring players the best possible experience on Nintendo Switch. We apologize to fans who are excited to play this version of the trilogy. Thank you for your patience.”

Based on the wording, it seems as though further optimisation is needed in order to ensure that the games run smoothly on Nintendo’s now ageing handheld hybrid. That said, this delay may benefit the collection in other ways, as this October is one of the busiest months of the year in terms of game releases. We have seen multiple different titles pushed out of the month – and even out of 2023 – in order to avoid clashing with the influx of games.

With the Batman Arkham Trilogy featuring 3 rather meaty titles in one package, hopefully the delay will not only serve to make for a better launch experience, but will give players more time to finish October’s MANY releases.

KitGuru says: What do you think of the delay? Do you have any interest in playing the Arkham games on Switch? What games do you plan on picking up this month? Let us know down below.
