Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is the fastest-selling entry in the franchise

Dragon Ball is undeniably one of the biggest anime/manga franchises of all time, with the series having a long and successful library of video games released over the past 35+ years. Even so, the latest title – Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero – has surpassed them all, becoming the fastest-selling entry of all time.

Even prior to its wide release, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero was breaking records, with the successor to the Budokai series becoming the highest-concurrently played fighting game during its advanced access period.

Furthermore, the game was then confirmed to have sold over 3 million copies in its first 24 hours (for comparison, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot sold 1.5 million in a week).

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero

We now have further evidence of its success as according to industry analyst Christopher Dring via the Gamesindsutry.biz Microcast, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero was a massive hit in Europe, selling more than 140% the number of launch copies when compared to the series’ previous record holder ‘Dragon Ball FighterZ’.

Considering the fact that many Dragon Ball games over the years have easily surpassed 10 million copies sold, it’s safe to say that Sparking! Zero’s early sales performance will only continue to impress over time.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake may be announced soon

Following the recent cancellation of a bunch of in-development titles however (including an almost-complete Prince of Persia Sands of Time Remake), the future of the Black Flag remake seemed uncertain. Fortunately it appears as though Ubisoft is still planning to release the game this year.
