Helldivers 2 update triples level cap, adds new hazards and more

Helldivers 2 has taken the industry by storm since its release back in February, with the co-op shooter far exceeding Arrowhead Game Studios’ expectations. Despite this, the team have been keeping up with a rapid rate of post-launch patches and updates – the latest of which is now live.

Making the announcement via Steam, Arrowhead Studios officially detailed patch ‘01.000.200’. Described as a “slightly bigger update” this patch features quite a few notable and impactful additions, including:

  • Balance changes to missions, stratagems, weapons, enemies and Helldivers
  • General fixes and stability improvements
  • Planetary Hazard additions – Blizzards and Sandstorms
  • Level cap has been increased from 50 to 150

The full list of balance changes and tweaks can be found HERE, including the exact changes to weapon, armour and enemy damage values. Of course, the biggest addition is the increase in player level cap.

Despite coming quite a bit after launch, Arrowhead revealed that all XP will be applied retroactively – meaning you won’t have wasted any time by playing prior to the update.

Helldivers 2 has already had planetary hazards added in the past, most notably with fire tornadoes and meteor storms. It is exciting to see even more dynamism being introduced to the various planets. The full list of patch notes can be found HERE.
