7 years after the release of the first game, Warhorse Studios have officially returned with the launch of its much-anticipated sequel Kingdom Come Deliverance II. With nearly 200k concurrent players on Steam, the game is clearly a success. That said, we now have more concrete proof, with the team announcing that KCDII sold over 1 million copies in just 24 hours.
Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Warhorse Studios unveiled this milestone, writing “Over a million of you have stepped into our world. We're beyond grateful for your support – thank you for making #KCD2 a triumph!”
As mentioned, the first game launched all the way back in 2018 and while it did reach cult-hit status, its popularity only continued to further increase over the years – with the initial announcement of its sequel helping to push the game past 8 million copies.
Given the long-term success of the first game – and the current rapid success of its sequel – it’s safe to say that Kingdom Come Deliverance II has been worth the wait.
With two wins under their belt now, it will be interesting to see what Warhorse Studios does next.
