Like a Dragon Studio announces ‘2023 Summer Summit’ stream

The Like a Dragon franchise has gone from strength to strength, seeing a great deal of increased success over the course of the generations. With 2020’s Like a Dragon becoming the most-successful entry in the series internationally, fans have been eagerly awaiting whatever is next. It looks like we will find out soon, as a 2023 Summer Summit has now been announced by RGG Studio.

Making the announcement via Twitter, the official team behind the Like a Dragon series – Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG Studio) – revealed that they will be hosting an RGG Summit where the team is set to unveil information on their new and upcoming projects.

Going live on the 16th of June at 4am UK time, little has been shared regarding what viewers might expect at the event. That said, fans are hoping to see more from the previously-announced Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name – an action-adventure spin-off planned for release sometime this year.

Additionally, some are hoping we might get our first look at Like a Dragon 8 – though neither of these titles are actually confirmed to be at the event.

As mentioned, RGG Studio has gone from strength to strength over the years, amassing a dedicated group of fans while also expanding to mainstream appeal. It will be interesting to see what the team shows off when the 2023 Summer Summit goes live in just a few weeks.

KitGuru Games: DLSS 5 misses the point

It would be hard to argue that NVIDIA’s DLSS technologies haven’t been a net positive to the PC space, with the machine-learning based upscaler successfully translating lower resolution inputs into a final image which is perceivably sharper while hogging fewer resources. Though somewhat more contentious, the next evolution of DLSS came in the form of Frame Generation, using ML in order to generate additional frames for high-refresh rate gaming. Both techniques can have their issues, but generally speaking they’ve allowed for more people to experience higher-end titles at increased frame rates. DLSS 5, however, takes a sharp pivot, with a very different end goal in mind than the performance-boosting versions that came before.
