Sayonara Wild Hearts gets surprise free PS5 upgrade

Sayonara Wild Hearts was one of the most surprising indies released in the last generation, with the title serving more as a playable music album with rhythm-based mechanics. Already a great experience, Sayonara Wild Hearts has now gotten a surprise PS5 update, bringing new modes, improved frame rates and more.

Announced during the recent Annapurna Interactive showcase, Sayonara Wild Hearts has gotten a surprise PS5 update. Available right now as a free upgrade for previous owners, the current-gen release offers a buttery smooth 120fps experience at 4K for the greatest sense of speed and momentum.

Beyond this, the game has also gotten a brand new mode. Called the ‘Remix Arcade’ this new mode allows you to “speed through infinitely replayable levels and chase high scores in random sound bites, all with no loading” – giving it a great deal more content than the original release.

Being a music-focused rhythm game, perhaps the most exciting improvement is the addition of PS5 DualSense support, giving each pulse and beat its own distinct sense of impact.

Sayonara Wild Hearts features poppy visuals, excellent music and a surprisingly heartfelt narrative, and so anyone who missed the title when it first released should give this remaster a go.
