Apple launches new 15-inch Macbook Pro with AMD 300-series mobile graphics

Apple launched the 12-inch Macbook a short while back, featuring the brand new ‘Force Touch' trackpad technology. At the same time, it updated the 13-inch Macbook Pro and now the company has finally made its way around to updating its 15-inch flagship laptop.

The new 15 inch Macbook Pro has been updated with the Force Touch trackpad, which features a unique ‘Taptic Engine' to simulate the feeling of a click, without you actually clicking the trackpad. It is also featured in the Apple Watch and works fairly well.

With the new trackpad comes some new gestures, which OS X is chock full of. Aside from the updated trackpad though, Apple has turbo charged the storage found in the Macbook Pro. The new SSD is up to 2.5 times faster than the old one.

In addition, the discrete graphics option has been updated, with Apple once again switching from Nvidia to AMD, with an R9 300-series mobile graphics chip. In this case, on the top end Macbook, buyers will get the R9 M370X.

Prices have all remained the same, with the base line 15-inch Macbook Pro costing £1599, with a Core i7 CPU, 16GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. The top end model costs £1999 and features an Intel Core i7, 16GB of RAM a 512GB SSD and the AMD Radeon R9 M370X. Check out the new Macbook Pros, HERE.

KitGuru Says: I've been considering upgrading my Macbook Pro for some time now but I can't stomach having to spend £2000 just to get a dedicated GPU. That said, I do like Apple's Macbook Pro's a lot. Do any of you use a Macbook at all? Are you sticking to Windows?
