Gigabyte Z68X-UD7-B3 Motherboard Review

While everyone waits with baited breath for AMD to release their new range of processors, we felt it was a good time to have a look at another Intel Z68 motherboard – the Gigabyte Z68X-UD7-B3. Gigabyte have earned a good reputation in the industry over the years for producing quality motherboards, alongside MSI and Asus.

This year has been a great year for Intel, with the only blip on the radar being the highly publicised Cougar Point chipset SATA issues, which resulted in the B3 stepping being released to market. The P67 chipset has had to try and thrive in a market which has placed a certain stigma against it.

Enter the Z68 platform, set to give Intel a ‘fresh’ start for Sandybridge. The Gigabyte Z68X-UD7-B3 is one of the flagship 1155 products from Gigabyte, created from the ground up for overclocking and high demand situations.

I like it, very nice colour scheme and board layout. I think if I was spending £300 on a mobo, this would be it. I just bought a new laptop so any desktop system upgrades are for later in the year.
