Halo 5 Guardians now has a release date

Microsoft's big Xbox One exclusive, Halo 5 Guardians, now has a release date, which was revealed in two new live action trailers. Each trailer goes on the idea that Master Chief is now a traitor and the UNSC's Spartan Locke has been given the task of tracking him down.

Halo 5 Guardians will be launching on the 27th of October. The game's multiplayer component had a beta back in January. 343 Industries has had its hands tied over the last few months with The Master Chief Collection, which had a rather unfortunate launch.

Both trailers featured the HuntTheTruth hashtag, a Tumblr page has also launched, featuring a few more tidbits and a podcast, set in the Halo universe, talking about the events of the franchise and giving some more background on the Master Chief.

We will probably see more at E3 in June. Microsoft had a pretty successful press conference last year but people will be wanting to see an update on Halo 5 Guardians along with Rise of the Tomb Raider.

KitGuru Says: I like the direction 343 Industries is taking the Halo series. These live-action trailers do make me wish we had a proper series though. Are any of you guys looking forward to Halo 5? Are you waiting for it to release before grabbing an Xbox One?
