Intel Core i9-12900K is the fastest mainstream processor on Geekbench 5

The Intel Core i9-12900K has appeared on the Geekbench database once again. Looking at its score, the processor outperforms all mainstream processors from AMD and Intel on both single and multi-core tests, putting it at the top of the chart in the single-core test and seventh place in the multi-core test.

The Geekbench 5 entry, spotted by @Leakbench, was removed soon after being created, but screenshots were taken beforehand. According to the entry, the CPU features 16x cores and 24x threads, where 8x cores have hyperthreading, and the remaining 8x don't. These specs match what we've been hearing about this processor, suggesting that Geekbench 5 already detects the core counts of these processors correctly.

The entry shows the processor features a 3.2GHz base clock, and although the entry is only showing a maximum boost of 3MHz, it's expected that the processor will boost up to 5.3GHz on the big cores and 3.9GHz on the small ones. It will also come with 30MB of L3 cache.

In the single-core test, the system scored 1893, beating the AMD Ryzen 9 5950X by 12% (1893 vs 1691) and the Core i9-11900K by 2% (1893 vs 1856). Moving on to the multi-core test, the Core i9-12900K scored 17299 points, putting it 3% above the Ryzen 9 5950X, which scored 16724 points, and 57% above the Core i9-11900K, scoring 10995 points.
