GPU prices continue to drop in April

The GPU market is continuing to recover from inflated prices. For another consecutive month, AMD and Nvidia GPU prices have dropped in Europe, with the average Radeon RX 6000 GPU now selling at 12% above MSRP, while the average Nvidia RTX 30 GPU has dropped to 19% above MSRP.

Since 3DCenter started reporting the GPU prices in Germany and Austria, they've never been as low as they currently are. Moreover, the availability of AMD and Nvidia cards is also hitting record highs, likely because people are waiting for the last push for them to hit MSRP.

Prices have been steadily reducing since December, and if the downward trend continues, prices may normalise by May. In fact, some AMD models are already available at reasonable prices. These are the Radeon RX 6500XT, RX 6600 and RX 6900XT cards. However, there's still room for improvement for the rest of the Radeon RX 6000 series line-up, especially the Radeon RX 6800 series cards. Contrary to the RX 6500XT/6600/6900XT, the Radeon RX 6800 costs 41% more than it should, and the Radeon RX 6800XT models cost 31% extra, at best.

The Nvidia landscape isn't as good as AMD's, but it shows signs of improvement. As a result, RTX 3080 Ti cards can be bought near MSRP. However, if you're trying to get any other RTX 30 series card, you may be better off waiting a little more, as they are available for 14-32% more than their recommended price.
