G.Skill showcases DDR5-8133 2x 24GB CSO-DIMM kit

G.Skill and ASRock are teaming up to redefine mini-PC performance with the introduction of high-speed DDR5 CSO-DIMM memory modules. These new modules showcased in the ASRock DeskMini B860 system deliver impressive speeds and capacities in a compact form.

CSO-DIMMs (Clocked Small Outline Dual In-line Memory Modules) are a new form factor that integrates a clock driver (CKD) into the compact SO-DIMM design. This allows for higher frequencies and improved signal integrity, unlocking greater performance potential for mini-PCs and small form factor systems.

G.Skill has achieved an impressive DDR5-8133 speed with CL46-52-52-130 timings on a 48 GB (2x 24 GB) kit in the ASRock DeskMini B860, showcasing the potential of this new memory technology. The DeskMini B860, equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 9 285 desktop CPU and the ASRock B860M-STX motherboard, provides the ideal platform for pushing the limits of DDR5 CSO-DIMM performance.

In addition, the ASRock DeskMini B860, with its support for DDR5 CSO-DIMMs, multiple USB ports, and four storage devices, offers a compelling solution for professionals, content creators, and enthusiasts seeking a compact yet powerful system. The inclusion of Intel Thunderbolt 4 and support for four displays further enhances the DeskMini B860's versatility.

KitGuru says: Although this high-speed CSO-DIMM kit has been showcased on a mini-PC, they should also find their way into laptops, bringing faster DDR5 speed to the format.
