AOC AGON to launch upgraded 4K OLED gaming monitor

Monitor manufacturers have been focusing on launching OLED gaming monitors. Many already have at least one such model, including AOC AGON. Currently, the AG485UD is the only one in the company's portfolio, but a new one might be coming soon.

Named AG485UD2, this new OLED gaming monitor found on the AOC Chinese website (via DisplaySpecifications) is an upgraded version of the AG485UD. The monitor packs a 48-inch 4K OLED panel with a 138Hz refresh rate and a response time of 0.1ms, capable of covering 100% of the sRGB colour spectrum and 98.5% of the DCI-P3 gamut. Like most modern OLED panels, it boasts a high contrast ratio (1.5M:1), 10-bit colour depth and decent brightness, rated at 450 nits.

The monitor comes calibrated out-of-the-box (ΔE<2) and supports Adaptive-Sync, and presumably AMD FreeSync. In addition, it features LightFX LEDs in the back, 2x 10W speakers, a KVM switch and support for HDR10 content, PbP and PiP. Lastly, the monitor is TUV Eye Comfort, and VESA ClearMR certified.

The included stand should meet the needs of most users, allowing you to swivel, tilt and adjust the height. However, you can always replace it with a compatible monitor arm (VESA 100x100mm). Connectivity options include HDMI 2.0 and 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, a USB 3.2 Gen1 hub, a headphone output and a USB-C interface with DisplayPort support and 90W power delivery.

KitGuru says: With these specs, the monitor sounds decent on paper. The next step will be seeing pricing and user reviews.
