Today we’re checking out the Arctic Freezer 36-S A-RGB, a compact tower CPU cooler equipped with a 120mm P12 Pro PST fan, four copper heat pipes and ARGB lighting. With tight dimensions, support for the latest Intel and AMD desktop platforms, plus a 600–3000 RPM fan speed range, Arctic is targeting users looking for a relatively compact air cooler without sacrificing performance. So, how does the Freezer 36-S A-RGB perform? Let’s find out.
Features:
- P12 Pro PST fan – The Freezer 36-S uses Arctic's high-static-pressure P12 Pro PST fan, with a speed range of 600–3000 RPM, 77 CFM maximum airflow and 6.90 mmH₂O max static pressure.
- Direct-touch heatpipes – Four 6mm copper heatpipes make direct contact with the CPU IHS, transferring CPU heat directly to the heatsink.
- Compact design – With dimensions of 126 x 88 x 156mm, the cooler is designed to fit smaller cases while providing clearance for tall RAM and surrounding components.
- A-RGB lighting – It also features 12 A-RGB LEDs with a standard 3-pin 5V A-RGB connector, allowing the lighting to be controlled through compatible motherboard software.

Arctic ships the Freezer 36-S A-RGB in a small cardboard box sporting the typical blue and green company colours with a large image of the cooler printed on the front. On the rear of the box are RGB compatibility information and specifications listed.
The Freezer 36-S is available in a regular version without illumination or an A-RGB fan version and in black or white colour schemes. Both are equipped with an Arctic P12 Pro PST fan, the A-RGB version has illumination of the fan blades.
Dimensions of the Freezer 36-S with the fan attached are 126 x 88 x 156 mm. It’s a 4 x 6 mm copper heat pipe design with 54 aluminium fins, so quite compact by today's standards.
The cooler comes with a single fan included: Arctic’s P12 Pro PST 120mm, 25mm thick, PWM control with high static pressure and airflow, ideal for use on heatsinks. ARGB versions come with illuminated fan blades and hub and connect to standard 3-pin 5V ARGB headers.
On top of the cooler, the ends of the heat pipes are on show and there's an Arctic logo in the centre of the top heatsink fin. The heat sink fins, heat pipes and the top/sides of the cooler are covered in a black or white (depending on model) matte coating that looks high quality.
At the base of the cooler is an aluminium block with four 6mm diameter direct-touch heat pipes and a CPU socket clamp bar with a black coating, which on the white version doesn't fit in with the otherwise all-white aesthetic.
Arctic includes all the mounting hardware needed to install the Freezer 36-S A-RGB on current Intel and AMD platforms, plus a small tube of thermal paste is included as well as a contact frame for Intel. However, there's no paper copy of the installation guide; instead, the user has to scan the QR code link to an online manual.
