Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced massively exceeds expectations

Prior to its launch, there was a palpable amount of excitement surrounding Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Remake, with its pre-release materials showcasing a faithful yet-visually-overhauled reinterpretation of the publisher’s 2013 classic. Even so, the game’s rapid success seems to have taken Ubisoft by surprise, with the company revealing that Black Flag Resynced has exceeded “annual expectations within its first 14 days.”

As part of the publisher’s latest fiscal earning reports (covering Q1 of 2026), Ubisoft revealed that the recently-released Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has far outperformed expectations, writing:

“Released on July 9, 2026, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced has made a strong start with 3.5 million copies sold-in to date, exceeding annual expectations within its first 14 days.”

While the sales figure itself is not surprising (with Ubisoft recently announcing that the game had sold 3 million copies), the fact that Resynced managed to surpass its first year expectations in just two weeks is both impressive and suggests that Ubisoft were – perhaps for the first time – being conservative with their estimates.

What this means for the future of Ubisoft and Assassin’s Creed, we will have to wait and see. That said, it is safe to assume that they will be doubling down on remakes from this point onwards. It will be interesting to see what the rumoured AC1 remake winds up looking like.

KitGuru says: Are you one of the 3.5 million? How does it compare to the likes of AC: Shadows, Valhalla and Mirage? Will Resynced surpass 10 million copies sold when all is said and done? Let us know down below.
