Razer announces Wolverine V4 controller lineup for Xbox and PC

Razer has announced the Wolverine V4 line, introducing the wireless Wolverine V4 Pro and wired Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition for Xbox and PC. The new esports controllers feature capacitive thumbstick sensors, up to an 8000Hz polling rate on PC, and magnetic swappable back buttons.

Equipped with contactless capacitive sensors paired with a 16-bit ADC chip, the controllers' asymmetrical thumbsticks register roughly 3000 steps of movement. Razer says these capacitive sensors offer higher resolution and better resistance to magnetic interference than Hall Effect or TMR alternatives while maintaining drift-free performance.

On PC, both wired and wireless connections in the Wolverine V4 Pro support an 8000Hz HyperPolling rate with sub-1ms response times. For Xbox Series X|S consoles, connectivity runs at up to 250Hz. Both models include six mappable action buttons, featuring four magnetic removable back buttons and two claw-grip bumpers. Moreover, the Wolverine V4 lineup also supports Pro HyperTriggers, which let players switch between instant actuation and full analogue pulls, with actuation points adjustable from 1.3mm to 8.2mm via Razer Synapse.

The Pro model offers much wider physical customisation, letting users swap thumbstick caps and the faceplate. Construction of the two models feature textured TPU side grips, PBT mecha-tactile face buttons, and an eight-way floating D-pad. Four onboard profiles store custom button layouts, trigger settings, and dead zones ranging from 0% to 15%.

The Wolverine V4 Pro is now available for £199.99/$199.99/€209.99, while the Tournament Edition costs £99.99/$99.99/€109.99.
