Asus Android Wear smartwatch now available on Google Play Store

The Asus Zenwatch, powered by Google's smartwatch optimized Android Wear operating system,  is now available on the Google Play Store in the US. The wearable features a 1.63 Inch AMOLED display with a 320×320 resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 1.2GHz CPU and 512MB of RAM.

It has an IP55 water resistance rating and a bio-sensor for health tracking. Unlike the Moto 360, the Zenwatch uses a square display, which is rather typical of smartwatches these days, It will come with a $199 price tag as well.

Zenwatch

For those of you who are wondering about Android Wear, it looks a lot like Google Now, with information cards appearing on the main display, which you can swipe through for different bits of information. So far, there is only a handful of Android Wear smartwatches on the market, including options from Asus, Samsung, LG and Motorola.

In order to use an Android Wear watch, users will need a phone running Android 4.3 or higher, it is also likely that users will need to charge their watches at the end of every day, just like their phones.

KitGuru Says: The Asus Zenwatch is one of the nicer looking options so far, although personally, I think I still prefer the circular face of the Moto 360. What do you guys think of the Zenwatch? Are you interested in wearable tech at all?
