Ark and Company of Heroes 2 are free to play this weekend

If you have been thinking about trying out Company of Heroes or the latest hit survival game, Ark: Survival Evolved, then this weekend is the perfect opportunity as there will be a Steam free weekend for both of those games. Ark is probably the most surprising addition to the free weekend, given its immense popularity, high sales and the fact that it is only a couple of months old at this point.

That said, it is one of the more polished survival experiences currently out on Early Access, it also seems to be making good progress with weekly updates and plenty of community interaction.

If survival games aren't your thing, then you'll also be able to get your hands on Company of Heroes and Company of Heroes 2, developed by Relic Studios. These two RTS games take place in World War 2, with the latter due to get an expansion some time soon. The free weekend will be accompanied by a sale, so you'll be able to pick both games up at 75% off.

The final game included in the free weekend is Mount & Blade: Warband, as well as its expansions. This particular game will also be on sale for 66% off. The free weekend kicks off later today at 6PM and will run until 6PM on Sunday evening here in the UK.

KitGuru Says: I'm a little surprised to see Ark on the list, though it does give people a good chance to give the game a go if they are on the edge when it comes to buying. Will any of you be trying out one of the games taking part in the free weekend?
