Xiaomi launches a 165Hz 1440p gaming monitor

While Xiaomi is certainly best known for its smartphones, the Chinese manufacturer has an extensive portfolio that even extends to gaming laptops. Today, the company has launched the Mi Gaming Display, featuring a 165 Hz, 27″ IPS panel with 1440p resolution – all for a price of around £250.

Xiaomi is a fast growing Chinese company that produces everything from smartphones, to water filters and go-karts. Now the company is looking to further expand into the monitor market, as the Xiaomi Mi Gaming Display is actually the fourth screen from the company. According to DisplaySpecifications, this monitor boasts a 1ms MPRT, or 4ms GtG, response time, which coupled with its high refresh rate, means the Mi Display is aimed squarely at gamers.

The Mi Gaming Display also comes equipped with 3x USB 3.0, 1x HDMI, 1x DisplayPort and 1x 3.5mm ports. The screen uses an 8-bit panel which reproduces 95% of the standard DCI-P3 and is DisplayHDR 400 certified, with a peak brightness of 400 nits.

This monitor was released to the Chinese market today, June 17, with the Mi Gaming Display expected to be made available to the international market soon. Priced at 2199 Yuan, this works out at just under £250.
