Facebook purchase Push Pop Press

Facebook have purchased the interactive iPad book maker Push Pop Press, with plans to integrate the ideas and technology behind the company.

Push Pop Press published a blog post which said “Now we're taking our publishing technology and everything we've learned and are setting off to help design the world's largest book, Facebook.

Although Facebook isn't planning to start publishing digital books, the ideas and technology behind Push Pop Press will be integrated with Facebook, giving people even richer ways to share their stories. With millions of people publishing to Facebook each day, we think it's going to be a great home for Push Pop Press.”

Push Pop Press are known for creating the Al Gore book ‘Our Choice' which received a lot of positive attention from the press. David Pogue from the New York Times called it “one of the most elegant, fluid, impressive apps you've ever seen. It's a showpiece for the new world of touch-screen gadgets.”

Kitguru says: TechCrunch also reported on a new Facebook iPad Application which is said to be in development, which would supplement the iPhone version – one of the most popular applications on the platform.
