Intel Core i3-13100 appears on CPU-Z Validator

The Intel 13th Gen Core chips will soon be available for everyone, but that only includes the “K” and “KF models”. The non-K/KF SKUs should release in H1 2022. Leaks claim that we will get Core i9, i7, and i5 chips, but news has been quiet on the Core i3 front. That has now changed, as the first 13th Gen Core i3 chip was spotted on CPU-Z Validator.

The Intel Core i3-13100 spotted by APISAK on CPU-Z Validator shows a 4C/8T processor (no E-cores) running at 3.4GHz on a Gigabyte B660 GAMING X with 32GB of DDR5-4800 memory. Considering the predecessor had a base clock of 3.3GHz and boosted up to 4.3GHz, we assume this sample was running with turbo boost disabled.

Seeing the cache configuration, this chip looks a lot like a refreshed Core i3-12100. Previous reports claimed the i3 chip would be based on Alder Lake silicon, so sharing the same cache configuration with slightly higher clocks makes sense. Another report also said that the chip would have a 60W TDP, the lowest of the lineup.

Intel 13th Gen Core non-K chips are expected to be introduced at CES 2023. At the same time, Intel should also present the H770 and B760 motherboards.

KitGuru says: If the 12th Gen Core i3 CPUs are considered the fastest four-core processors out there, it's only reasonable to assume that the 13th Gen Core i3 will inherit that title. The question is, how much faster than their predecessors will they be?
