Tekken 8 will be at The Game Awards

Goeff Keighley’s The Game Awards will soon be upon us, meaning alongside celebrating some of the year’s best games, we will be inundated with a bunch of new games, trailers, and “world premieres.” Though the TGAs has remained quite tight-lipped, we do know that the much-anticipated Tekken 8 will be there.

Earlier this year we finally got official confirmation that Tekken 8 is on its way. The latest entry in the long-running fighting game series is expected to release some time in 2023, but ahead of that, it seems the game will be making an appearance at The 2022 Game Awards, which is set to go live on the 9th of December (UK).

Twitch streamer AvoidThePuddle recently took to Twitter to reveal that they had received a care package from Bandai Namco which stated “Tekken 8: Tune into The Game Award Livestream!” alongside a link to the Game Awards’ Twitch page and the date 12.08.2022 (the day of the TGAs).

This confirms that Tekken will be present at the Awards show, meaning we will likely get another look at Tekken 8’s gameplay. What we have seen so far looks impressive – especially when compared to 7 – and so it will be exciting to see what the team has planned for The Game Awards.

While its sequel has failed to make the same level of splash, the team are apparently working on a brand new game – this one being inspired by Titanfall.
