Grand Theft Auto 6 is already breaking world records

The Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer has been live for a little over one day and as expected, it has taken over the internet. Within one day, the new trailer reached the lifetime views of the original GTA V reveal, amassing over 104 million views on YouTube alone.

This is just one stat, the trailer has also been viewed millions of other times via re-uploads and shares on social networks like Twitter. To make matters more impressive, Guinness World Records has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 already holds three world records.

As of now, the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer holds records for the most viewed video game reveal on YouTube, the most liked video game trailer and the most viewed non-music YouTube video in 24 hours.

Naturally, Rockstar's parent company, Take Two, has also seen a rise in shares following the game's announcement. So far, it looks like Grand Theft Auto 6 is going to garner the same level of hype and success as GTA V all those years ago.

The game isn't coming out for a while though. Rockstar plans to release the game for Xbox Series X/S and PS5 consoles sometime in 2025. Then, we'll likely have a 1-2 year wait before the PC version comes along.
