Avowed will be published to Battle net at launch

Avowed is one of Microsoft's biggest first-party games with a confirmed release date. Set to launch on the 18th of February, the game is of course going to be made available across the likes of Steam and the Windows Store. Interestingly, this Obsidian Entertainment title is also going to be added to Activision Blizzard’s Battle net launcher.

As part of their latest blog post detailing the game’s revised release date of the 18th of February, Shyla Schofield – the Senior Communications Manager at Obsidian Entertainment – revealed that alongside its upcoming launch on the Xbox Series X|S, the Xbox app on Windows and Steam, Avowed will also be available to purchase via Activision Blizzard’s Battle.net launcher.

Of course, with the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft, this move perhaps is not too surprising.

That said, given the fact that the launcher primarily served Activision Blizzard back when they were ‘independent’, the addition of Avowed to the platform (especially as it isn’t an Activision Blizzard title) is an interesting move.
