Ubisoft’s multiplayer Assassin’s Creed Invictus reportedly “really bad” in its current state

As part of Ubisoft’s renewed focus on its core franchises, the publisher is currently working on a number of different titles in the Assassin’s Creed universe. One of its more experimental projects – the multiplayer-focused Invictus – is reportedly struggling somewhat, with recent playtests said to have been “really bad.”

As reported by known Assassin’s Creed leaker xj0nathan. Ubisoft recently held a playtest for Assassin’s Creed Invictus. Unfortunately, responses to the test were less than stellar, with the insider claiming (as translated by ResetEra user ‘RandomlyRandom67’):

“There were tests of Assassin's Creed Invictus last month (April 30th to be exact) and I was told that it was really bad. It should be released at the end of the year but there is a good chance that it will be postponed or even canceled.”

While not officially confirmed, previous leaks claimed that AC: Invictus will be a competitive multiplayer entry which borrows elements from the likes of Fall Guys.

Of course, aesthetically the two will likely be wholly different, but the claims suggest that this PvP title will take on a similar formula – perhaps putting emphasis on clean parkour movements.

In recent months Ubisoft has been rather quick to cancel or postpone projects which aren’t going according to plan, and so it will be interesting to see whether Assassin’s Creed Invictus manages to make its way out of the testing phase and into fans’ hands.
