Microsoft’s 25th anniversary Xbox Series X expected to launch at €899.99

Microsoft’s translucent green Xbox Series X25 is set to launch later this year to mark the Xbox's 25th anniversary, and a new report now claims the limited‑edition console will retail for €899.99 in Europe, with a release date scheduled for Black Friday 2026.

According to new information published by Dealabs, the Xbox Series X25 will ship on the 27th of November 2026. The console features a translucent “OG Green” shell inspired by the original 2001 Xbox, with internal components visible through the casing.

At €899, the new Xbox Series X25 sits in the same price bracket as the PS5 Pro, a far more popular console option. This is also a €100 premium over the standard Xbox Series X, following several rounds of price hikes in recent years due to rising component costs. Previous limited-edition console launches this generation have had a roughly €50 premium. However, it is worth noting that the Xbox Series X25 does also come with a matching controller, and of course, the disc drive comes built-in as standard, while most PS5 consoles nowadays do not include a disc drive at all, forcing people to buy one separately.

Microsoft will sell the translucent wireless controller separately, although we don't know pricing for it yet.

KitGuru Says: The X25’s translucent design echoes early Xbox hardware, but the reported €899.99 price puts it in uncomfortably close proximity to the more powerful PS5 Pro.
