Marvel’s Wolverine has gone GOLD ahead of September launch

September is nearly upon us, and amongst the deluge of upcoming releases is Marvel’s Wolverine. Officially set to launch on the 15th of next month, Insomniac Games have now confirmed that the title is complete and ready to play – having officially gone Gold.

Taking to BlueSky to make the announcement, the team at Insomniac Games wrote: “Today, we're popping claws in celebration… Marvel's Wolverine has GONE GOLD!”

For the uninitiated, going Gold means that Wolverine’s master disc has been submitted to the game’s publisher, Sony. After this, discs can then be pressed with finalised software and PlayStation's Store can upload the 1.0 version of the game ready for release.

It’s a process that every game in development goes through, and means that (aside from post-launch patches and potential DLC) Marvel’s Wolverine should be complete and ready to play.

While there is no hard and fast rule when it comes to how far ahead of launch a game should go Gold, most titles typically manage to make it with roughly a month to spare – meaning Wolverine could be coming in a bit hot.

Either way, here’s to hoping that Marvel’s Wolverine does not suffer from unforeseen bugs and glitches when it officially launches on the 15th of September.
