Ubisoft forgot to include the game files when ‘releasing’ Heroes of Might and Magic 3 on Steam

Heroes of Might and Magic 3's return was announced recently and swiftly released on Steam. However, early buyers quickly ran into a problem – Ubisoft managed to release the game with no files to download. 

Early buyers of Heroes of Might and Magic 3 were left confused last night when they downloaded the game, only to find an empty install folder. The game weighed in at just 23.49KB at launch, far lower than the 1GB install size that the game is supposed to be.

As a result of this baffling mix-up, the game's Steam Store page has filled up with negative reviews. According to one player, the actual game files weren't made available to download until roughly 10 hours after its release.

It is unfortunate, but the issue is fixed now, so if you were planning on picking this up for the weekend, you shouldn't run into any problems downloading the actual game files from this point forward.

KitGuru Says: I don't think I've ever seen a game released on Steam without any of the game files present. Unfortunately for Ubisoft, this does sound like the sort of thing that would happen to them.
