For our temperature testing, we measure the peak GPU core temperature under load. A reading under load comes from running Cyberpunk 2077 for 30 minutes.

As for our thermal testing, this is where things get really interesting. We have of course tested both the Performance and the Quiet BIOS, but really there’s not much between them – both delivered peak temperatures under 60C, with the hot spot running 10-12C warmer. As we’d hope, that means this Noctua cooler wipes the floor with the other two RTX 3070s we’ve tested, with the ASUS performance BIOS delivering a peak GPU temperature that is 13C lower than Nvidia’s Founders Edition.
