Asus Matrix Platinum GTX 580 1.5GB Review

Today we played with Asus and MSI software and settled on Afterburner, trying to achieve the maximum overclock possible.

Our overclocking results were mixed, we thought the card might overclock further, although even using the ASUS software didn't help as it seemed limited to around 900 mhz. Every card is different however so it is possible that another board would overclock significantly better. With voltage increases, the temperatures can quickly surpass 90c unless the fan is set to full (which is very loud). With a watercooling block we also think this card could easily break the 1,000mhz barrier.

The overclock really helps with performance, increasing the 3DMark 11 score by around 500 points to 7,367. An excellent result.
