PNY Pro Elite 1TB External SSD Drive Review

The front of the box has a medium-sized image of the drive, and under the image to the left are the maximum claimed Sequential performance speeds (890MB/s read and 880MB/s write) and the interface type, USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C. To the right is a box displaying the drives capacity.

The rear of the box has some small multi-lingual lists of some of the drive's features and some general information regarding usage.

The drive sits in a plastic tray inside the box, under which you will find the two bundled cables; USB-C 3.1 to USB-C 3.1 and USB-C 3.1 to USB-A 3.1, both of which are on the short side. Also bundled in with the drive is a serial number for Acronis True Image, which can be downloaded from the PNY website.

The Pro Elite really is tiny, the aluminium enclosure measuring just 63.5 x 57.2 x 10mm and weighing in at a featherweight 45g.

The Pro Elite uses an USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C connection.
