OCZ Agility 4 256 SSD Review – 57p per GB!

Crystalmark is a useful benchmark to measure theoretical performance levels of hard drives and SSD’s. We are using V3.0.1 x64.

Sequential performance is excellent, scoring over 400 MB/s in the write test. 4k QD32 performance is also very strong.

We switch to 0x00 mode, which deals with compressible data. Sequential read performance improves in this mode although all the other results stay pretty much the same. This highlights the strength of the Indilinx Everest 2 controller – strong with both compressible and incompressible data.

Above, some included compares from other leading solid state drives which we have reviewed in recent months.

PlayStation head of 3rd party claims “There are no dire times for the industry ahead”

The past few years in particular have felt pretty bleak for the video games industry, with the rise and fall of countless live-service games creating volatility, while the influx of gen-AI has led to continuous price hikes across the board. Despite all this, the head of 3rd parties at PlayStation ‘Christian Svensson’ has claimed that “there are no dire times for the industry ahead as far as I'm concerned.”

  1. thats a great deal, I still use a small crucial drive for boot, but its too small and I need an upgrade. the 128gB version of this would be ideal, but I would assume its slower?

  2. How are ARIA managing that price, its £30 less than a few other bigger stores in the UK?

  3. good deals all round on SSD’s right now. there is a big sale on ebuyer for Kingston, £50 for a 120GB 🙂
