Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core officially launches in May

Deep Rock Galactic is a fun co-op first-person shooter which sees players working together to mine underground resources in fully-destructible environments – all the while trying to hold back the horde of enemies coming your way. Since its early access release in 2018 the game has attracted millions of players and spawned a number of spin-offs; with the previously-announced DRG: Rogue Core now set to officially launch (in Early Access) this May.

Publishing a new trailer, the team at Ghost Ship Games officially confirmed that the highly-anticipated rogue-lite spin-off Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core will launch in Early Access on the 20th of May for PC.

Initially announced in October of 2023, Rogue Core was originally planned to release all the way back in November of 2024 – though plans of course changed.

For the uninitiated, Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core is a “1-4 player co-op FPS action roguelike featuring sci-fi dwarves, alien horrors and procedurally-generated caves”. While seemingly somewhat similar to the mainline DRG, the addition of rogue-like elements should make for a rather different experience overall; one which is more focused on combat than mining.

All that said, following the likes of Deep Rock Galactic and the top-down bullet-heaven DRG: Survivor, Rogue Core looks to be a welcome addition to the Deep Rock Galactic universe.
