Hades II Early Access launches in Q2 2024

SuperGiant Games hit it big back in 2020 when the rogue-like title Hades left early access, amassing a great deal of fanfare across the board and winning dozens of awards in the process. Hades II was then announced late last year with a planned early access launch in 2023. This ultimately did not come to be, with SuperGiant Games now offering a renewed Early Access launch window.

Making the announcement via their blog, the team at SuperGiant Games released a development update for Hades II, saying: “Back when we first revealed Hades II at The Game Awards in 2022, we said to expect more information on our plans for Early Access sometime in 2023. It's time we shed some light on those plans!”

They continued, “We now can confirm we're planning for Hades II to launch in Early Access in Q2 2024 on Steam and the Epic Games Store. We'll have more details on the exact date, pricing, and system requirements closer to that time.”

Discussing the reasons as to why Early Access is not arriving this year, the team stated that “Hades II will have at least as much content from day one in Early Access as the original game did back when it launched in Early Access on Steam. And, even though Early Access inherently means a game is not yet complete, we still want to do everything we can to make sure Hades II is worth your while as soon as you can play it in any capacity.”

The team went more in-depth regarding their mentality and approach towards early access (especially with how it compares to Hades 1), but considering how well received the first game was, SuperGiant Games have earned as much time as they need in order to ensure that the sequel is as good as possible.
