Half of all Capcom game sales are from PC

The PC gaming market has had a rather major resurgence in recent years, in particular when it comes to publishers supporting the platform with well-optimised and bespoke PC versions of their games. One company which has seen great success on PC is Capcom, with the publisher revealing that half of all its game sales are on PC.

As part of the company’s Q2 Fiscal Year 2022 Q&A session with investors, Capcom was asked “What is the ratio of PC sales to total unit sales in your Consumer sub-segment at the end of Q2 in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023?” to which the company responded: “Approximately 50%, with primarily catalog title sales growing.”

For more context, during this most recent Quarter, Capcom had managed to sell just shy of 10 million games (9.6 million to be specific), with approximately 4.8 million units being attributed to PC players.

When considering the fact that Capcom develops games for all current modern systems, it is impressive to see that the PC market managed to shift as many units as PlayStation, Xbox and Switch combined. Hopefully the publisher chooses to focus even more on the PC market as a result.

KitGuru says: What do you think of Capcom’s PC sales figures? Are you surprised? Is this just a temporary spike, or do you think the PC market will continue to make up the majority of sales for Capcom? Let us know down below.
