DICE launch Battlefield V’s single-player campaign: War Stories

While this year’s Call of Duty was the first in its series to shed a single-player campaign in favour of its Blackout battle royale mode, Battlefield V is keeping to tradition. Ahead of its launch next month, developer DICE has now released its story trailer full of War Stories.

War Stories once again adopts the anthology format last seen in Battlefield 1, delving into the lives of multiple soldiers throughout World War II. Overall, there are four stories to explore. While Nordlys, Under No Flag and Tirailleur will be available at launch, The Last Tiger will follow shortly after the game is released.

Nordlys pits the player in the shoes of a female resistance fighter located in Norway, as she is tasked to resist German occupation and fight “for her family's survival.” Under No Flag stars a reformed British criminal taking out German air bases within the North African desert. Tirailleur follows the Senegalese units of the French Colonial Forces as they attempt to “liberate the homeland.”

Perhaps the most interesting of the War Stories is the fourth and final campaign expected post-launch, as players will fight from the perspective of a German Tiger tank crew that starts to question the reasons why they are fighting.

Battlefield V launches on November 20th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

KitGuru Says: A portion of the cinematic focuses on a woman about to ski down a slope, and all I can do is hope that it’s playable. Are you excited for this year’s Battlefield instalment?
