Shadow of the Tomb Raider is expected to release in September

Update: Square Enix has officially dropped its teaser trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, confirming its September 14th release date. The teaser confirms that the reboot's fast-paced cinematic action will return once again, with a full reveal expected in April.

Initially displaying Shadow of the Tomb Raider's eclipsed logo, the website has now updated to reveal pre-orders for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. When attempting to pre-order, there is a “edition” drop-down menu that reveals there are plans for special and possibly exclusive editions of the upcoming title.

It looks like Square Enix will be pairing the reveal with a puzzle, but for now the option is currently greyed out and there's no speculation as to what it might contain just yet. All users can do in the meantime is keep an eye on the live countdown timer until its full reveal on April 27th.

Original story:

After years of speculation, it seems that the next sequel in Lara Croft’s adventure will be titled Shadow of the Tomb Raider and will be out this September. The official teaser trailer is set to drop in just a couple of hours, but a leak has given us a first look ahead of time.

Square Enix has updated its Tomb Raider website, revealing that news for the series will come to light on “March 15th, 2018 6:00am PDT.” Users were quick to inspect the HTML, revealing the possibility of a September 14th release date, as well as Shadow of the Tomb Raider being the finale to Lara Croft’s origin story.

Since then, a teaser trailer has leaked on Facebook, and while its quality isn’t the greatest to appreciate the cinematics of a game likely by Eidos Montréal and Crystal Dynamics, it clearly reinforces the release date of September 14th.

Until Square Enix officially unveil something on the upcoming Rise of the Tomb Raider sequel, nothing is set in stone. That being said, it’s expected that the leaked teaser trailer is the same one we will officially receive in just a couple of hours from now, so it’s a safe bet that players will once again step into the shoes of Lara Croft in September.
