CD Projekt Red is ‘investigating’ PC issues for The Witcher 3 next-gen

The Witcher 3's next-gen update has arrived, bringing a fresh graphical upgrade and some new content to CD Projekt Red's highly-rated RPG. Unfortunately, the transition to the latest version hasn't been entirely smooth, as PC players are facing some issues.

A number of users have begun reporting performance issues for the PC version of the game across forums and on sites like Reddit. There have also been a number of crashing issues.

In my own experience with the game, I have run into an issue where I can't load a previous save due to having used mods – attempting to load that particular save results in a crash. I have also faced crashes on a fresh save due to fiddling with graphics settings. You may experience a crash when switching RT on and off.

CD Projekt Red is aware of the issues that users are reporting and the team is actively looking into bug fixes and other changes it can make to smooth out the experience for all users. In the meantime, you can switch back to the older DX11 version of the game through the launcher.
