CD Projekt Red now has over 400 developers working on next Witcher game

CD Projekt recently shared its recent financial results with investors, revealing strong sales for Cyberpunk 2077 following last year's updates. Beyond that though, we also got exciting news for Witcher fans, as the team working on ‘The Witcher 4' continues to grow.

As of now, around 400 developers are now focused on ‘Polaris', the codename title for The Witcher 4, a new mainline game in the series, built using Unreal Engine 5 in an effort to improve development speed with robust, ready-made and supported tools. Previously with the in-house RED Engine, CD Projekt Red developers had to build engine features on the fly. a process that bogged down development on Cyberpunk 2077.

We still know very little about the new Witcher game officially. We still need answers to crucial questions around returning characters, story setting, new gameplay upgrades, and more.

Aside from Polaris, CD Projekt Red also has several other games in development, including a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, being helmed by the company's new US-based studio. Additionally, a complete remake of the first Witcher game is being developed, as is a new Witcher-based multiplayer game.

KitGuru Says: CDPR has a lot in the works at the moment but nothing has anything close to a release date yet, so we'll have to remain patient.
