Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty release date announcement imminent

It would seem that CD Projekt Red will be sharing a big update on Cyberpunk 2077's Phantom Liberty expansion imminently. Earlier today, users spotted an early Phantom Liberty pre-order page appear on GOG, lining up with the studio's former promise to reveal more details in June.

The pre-order page on GOG did not have a date listed or any new screenshots, so this leak isn't as major as it could have been. However, it does reveal that the expansion will cost 30 euros.

Now it is just a question of when the official announcement will drop. It could be happening later today, as Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest stream is going live at 7:30 PM today. In keeping with previous CD Projekt reveals though, the announcement might be saved for Sunday this week when the Xbox Game Showcase takes place.

With Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, CD Projekt Red chose to drop support for the Xbox One and PS4 consoles, choosing to focus entirely on current-gen Xbox Series X/S consoles and PC. The expansion was first announced in September 2022, right when the base game's Patch 1.6 was announced, introducing overhauled features and new content.

KitGuru Says: I've finished two playthroughs of Cyberpunk 2077 over the last 18 months and I can't wait to jump back into Night City when this new expansion drops. The game had its letdowns – the lifepath system still hurts. However, if you can get past that, the game does have a lot to offer. Now I hope that Phantom Liberty can take the game up to the next level.
