Hangar 13 seemingly staffing up for Mafia 4 on Unreal Engine 5

Last year, it was claimed that studio Hangar 13 is now working on a new Mafia trilogy, built using Unreal Engine 5. Later on in 2022, the studio confirmed that it is indeed working on Mafia 4 and now through job listings, we have an idea of just how far along the project is.

New job listings for Hangar 13's UK office have surfaced, calling for an Unreal Engine 5 engineer to work on a multiplatform game currently in pre-production. As we know from the announcement last year, Hangar 13 is working on a new Mafia title and previous rumours claim that Mafia 4 may be the beginning of a full new trilogy.

While Mafia 1 and 2 impressed, the third game in the series came with some disappointing issues, particularly when it came to performance. All three games were eventually remastered for Xbox One and PS4 consoles as well as PC.

Given that Mafia 4 seems to be in pre-production, it will be a few more years before we see the game in action.

KitGuru Says: While I wasn't a big fan of Mafia 3, I'm still looking forward to what's next for the series.
