The Resident Evil HD Remaster launched at the end of last month for the PC, Xbox One, PS4 and last generation consoles and it has since gone on to become Capcom’s fastest selling digital title in just under three weeks.
Capcom announced today that Resident Evil HD has become its fastest selling digital title in its history across not just North America but Europe as well. Additionally, the re-released classic broke the record for highest selling day one digital release on the PlayStation Network.
“It’s been great to see so many positive comments from fans that have enjoyed this new release. The team here at Capcom Japan have worked hard to bring the game to the latest generation of consoles and we are thrilled at this news on its performance,” said producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi.
Resident Evil HD launched with positive reviews and many fans of the series eager to revisit its origins. With enough sales, it is possible that this will lead to Capcom to remastering Resident Evil 2 as well.
