Rust Console Edition gets new trailer and closed beta

To cap off 2020, Double Eleven, the team behind bringing Rust to consoles, announced that the game was still on the way, promising to share more significant news in 2021. Now, the studio is delivering on that promise, revealing a new trailer for Rust: Console Edition and announcing an upcoming beta test.

Double Eleven and Facepunch released the new trailer for Rust: Console Edition last night, showing off gameplay running on console hardware. Currently, the game is still coming to Xbox One and PS4, so no enhanced versions for next-gen consoles have been announced yet:

Following on from the trailer reveal, a closed beta test was also announced. This is a closed beta, so you'll need to sign up for access and keys will be sent out randomly.

These invites will be sent out periodically over the next few weeks, with tests taking place until the 29th of March. After that, we should get an update on when to expect the final game to release.

KitGuru Says: Rust for consoles has been delayed a couple of times but it looks like the end is in sight now. We'll keep an eye out for more information following the closed beta test this month.
