Star Wars: Battlefront Outer Rim expansion detailed

Star Wars: Battlefront is set to get some new content soon. Not only did the game get a big update this week, but EA and DICE have also announced new details for the game's first expansion, called ‘Outer Rim', which will feature new maps, weapons, hero characters and a new game mode.

The Outer Rim expansion will take players to Sullust and Jabba The Hutt's palace on Tatooine.

No information was shared on the brand new game mode but EA has said that those that have stuck with Battlefront so far can expect some free additional content in March as well.

Following on from the Outer Rim expansion, there are three more planned, including Bespin, Death Star and an untitled one that won't arrive until next year.

KitGuru Says: Star Wars: Battlefront seemingly dropped off of the map for a while there with very little news about future content or updates. However, it looks like DICE is ramping things up over the next month or so. Will any of you be jumping back into Battlefront? I must admit I haven't really played much of it since late last year.

KitGuru Games: DLSS 5 misses the point

It would be hard to argue that NVIDIA’s DLSS technologies haven’t been a net positive to the PC space, with the machine-learning based upscaler successfully translating lower resolution inputs into a final image which is perceivably sharper while hogging fewer resources. Though somewhat more contentious, the next evolution of DLSS came in the form of Frame Generation, using ML in order to generate additional frames for high-refresh rate gaming. Both techniques can have their issues, but generally speaking they’ve allowed for more people to experience higher-end titles at increased frame rates. DLSS 5, however, takes a sharp pivot, with a very different end goal in mind than the performance-boosting versions that came before.

  1. They need to dish out a lot of free content to try and get gamers back. Unfortunately it is probably too little too late for them.

  2. Has anyone played battlefront 2 and this one concurrently or as of late? What’s your opinion on this one if you have?

  3. “ramping things up” lol
