Starfield’s Shattered Space story DLC is coming out ‘this Fall’

It has been a while since Bethesda last gave us an update on Starfield. So far, patches for the game have been quite slow and releases like the new Starfield Creation Kit for mod development are also taking longer than expected. Fortunately, we can expect a big update soon.

During a recent interview with Kinda Funny, Todd Howard confirmed a few things. For starters, the Shattered Space DLC, billed as the ‘first' story DLC for Starfield, indicating there may be more DLC down the line, is coming out ‘this Fall'. This puts it in a similar time period to Starfield's release date, with the game launching in September 2023.

Additionally, Howard has said that Starfield will continue to be ‘fleshed out' through the year with new updates. One of these updates should hopefully include vehicle options, proper maps for populated areas in the game, and we should also be getting some new content for the game's ship building component.

Howard teased that a new ‘big update' will be rolling out soon, with Bethesda planning to announce the patch sometime this week. Like previous Starfield patches, this one will first be made available through the Steam Beta Branch for testing, before rolling out to all users.

KitGuru Says: At this point, I'm probably not going to jump back into Starfield myself until the new DLC arrives. Even now six months on from release, it is a game I've wanted to go back to often for another run, but with updates being so far apart, my desire to actually boot it up has waned considerably. Hopefully some actual new content updates will change that.
