Sony’s infamous E3 2006 conference is now available in full HD

A couple weeks ago, YouTube Channel / documentary creators ‘No Clip’ announced that they had obtained more than a decade’s worth of lost video game history and would be archiving it online for all to view. As part of this, Sony’s now infamous E3 2006 conference has been archived in 1080p for the first time ever.

Making the announcement via Twitter, the official No Clip page said “For the first time EVER, the Sony 2006 E3 Press Conference is now available in 1080p. Featuring – ‘Riiidge Racer’- – Giant Enemy Crab – $599 – And a lot of good looking games.”

The video is available on YouTube HERE and according to its description the tapes were “Sourced from two HDCAM's recording the source broadcast feed” adding that “Two minutes are missing in the middle, we're on the lookout for a tape that might have it.”

Video game preservation is becoming an increasingly important topic. Equally as important as the games themselves however are the many major industry events and announcements which have taken place over the decades. It is exciting to be getting a new look at all these historical moments.
