The Crew 3 will use a new game engine according to datamine

Last week we reported that Ubisoft’s entire game line-up for 2023 had leaked, with one of the biggest unknown titles set to release this year being the unannounced The Crew 3. Ahead of its official reveal we now have more details, including the fact that the game will be using an entirely new engine.

Rumours surrounding the existence of a 3rd ‘The Crew’ began to pop up last year, with publication Insider Gaming revealing at the time that the game would be called The Crew Motorfest. Now, a new datamine by ScriptLeaksR6 on Twitter has provided important information on this alleged title.

According to ScriptLeaksR6 the game will indeed be called The Crew Motorfest, lending credence to Insider Gaming’s previous reports – though the publication had already amassed a trustworthy reputation over the past year.

Following this, Insider Gaming offered a few more details on the game, revealing that the title will be using a new engine when compared to 2018’s The Crew 2 (which was built partially on Ubisoft’s internal Dunia Engine) and will be set on the Hawaiian island of Oahu – offering a much more scenic environment when compared to the previous two titles.

The Crew and its sequel were unable to stand out from the crowd when they released, despite their somewhat unique vehicle-switching mechanics. Hopefully The Crew 3 hits it big for Ubisoft – they could certainly benefit from a success right about now.
